Update on Habitat for Humanity and volunteer possibilities

Tricia Cranmer serves as the Senior Director of Development at Lakeshore Habitat for Humanity and brings over two decades of nonprofit experience. She is passionate about connecting people, strengthening communities, and creating opportunities for lasting impact. In her role, she engages donors, volunteers, and community partners to advance the mission, and has been part of the Habitat team for the past year and a half. Maggie Wehrmeyer serves as the Volunteer Services Manager at Lakeshore Habitat for Humanity and is passionate about connecting people to the organization’s mission. In her role, she leads volunteer recruitment, coordination, and engagement, working closely with individuals and groups to create meaningful opportunities. Through her work, she fosters strong relationships and ensures volunteers have impactful, experiences that support the mission of building homes, communities, and hope. Together, they will present about Lakeshore Habitats volunteer opportunities, ways to get involved, and highlight how community members can make a difference by sharing their time and resources to support affordable housing in our community. |

WHAT IS PROVIDED: Hot dogs and burgers and veggie burgers! If your last name starts with A-L, bring a dessert. M-Z brings a salad or appetizer.
BRING: BYO drink, lawn chairs or blankets to sit on.
BRING GAMES AND YOUR SENSE OF FUN: Corn hole, Jenga, Badminton nets. frisbees, etc.

Parking:
Parking is available along the side street. Please do not park directly in front of the homes. When you enter Vista Green, the best place to park is along the street on the left, behind the portable restroom. This area is closest to the homes where your group will be working. Attire:
Please let your group know to wear clothes they don't mind getting a little dirty. We also ask that everyone wear closed-toe shoes for safety. Tools & Materials:
We provide all of the tools, materials, and protective equipment your group will need for the day, so there's no need to bring your own tools or safety gear. Arrival & Check-In:
Please look for your site supervisors or me upon arrival. Your crew will be working with our Construction Site Supervisor, Sean Ciaccio and Ben Sikkink. When you arrive to the build site you will be working on the last two houses on the left. That is where I will meet your group and get you checked in, and situated. Waivers:
Each participant is required to complete a waiver once per calendar year before volunteering. To save time, we encourage everyone to complete the waiver online in advance. If it has not been completed beforehand, I will assist participants with filling it out on-site using either a QR code or a paper copy. Safety:
Before work begins, your supervisor will provide a safety briefing specific to the tasks your group will be completing. If any safety equipment is needed, we will provide it at check-in. We also encourage everyone to watch our online safety video before arriving. Photos & Sharing:

The next highway cleanup will be held on Saturday, July 18. We will meet at Veldheers Tulip Farm On Quincy Street, just east of US 31 at 8 AM.
